America & Military Saves Week February 21-28
Frontier CCU has been recognized by the Credit Union Currently, the national savings rate is 0%, something that has not occurred since the Great Depression. A recent study, commissioned by Consumer Credit Counseling Service, revealed that overall consumer debt has increased by 38% for households at all income levels over the last year. The households in our community are taking on more debt and saving less than ever before.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has encouraged America Saves and Military Saves to expand efforts and combat the low savings rate. That is why Frontier CCU will focus on promoting savings and motivating individuals to take financial action as part of America Saves and Military Saves Week.
Because with spending being so easy these days, it’s no surprise that saving isn’t. But if you put the plastic back into your wallet and say “later” to your latte, you could easily enroll as a Saver, reinvigorate your savings account, and start making automatic deposits -- which could save you thousands of dollars a year.
